Casa la Finca
Madrid
The house is located in a residential area in the mountains of Madrid, in an environment where vegetations lushness takes on great importance. The plot borders a lake to which the house opens.
The presence of centuries-old oak trees, scattered around the plot, give rise to the geometry and position of the house, so the design process is closely linked to its location. The house is set back to adapt to the larger specimens, respecting them and giving them great prominence.
The strong tectonic character of the house links it to its immediate surroundings. The large masonry walls act as a link with the terrain. The wood and corten steel used are reminiscent of the trunks of oak trees and the vegetation of the Madrid mountains. The tone of the large longitudinal pool is reminiscent of the lake that the house opens onto. The hardness of the exterior skin contrasts with the balance and luminosity of the interior, where the wood is lighter and white and neutral tones predominate in the space.
